Emami Art invites applications for
Award & Exhibition (All-India)
Due to multiple requests from applicants we have extended the last date to 17.05.2023.
Emami Art actively supports and promotes talented artists across India. Our annual awards and exhibition programmes have provided support, mentorship and a platform for discourse to emerging artists since 2020.
IMAGINARIUM 3.0 is open to master's degree final year art students, artists who have completed their post-graduation within the last three years (between 22 to 35 years of age) and self-taught artists (35 years and below as on 30th April 2023).
An invited panel of eminent jurors will select 10 (ten) artists based on their portfolio to be part of the IMAGINARIUM 3.0 exhibition and awards at Emami Art, Kolkata, in September 2023.
Of the ten artists, three will be selected for excellence awards.
INR 2.0 Lakh – First awardee
INR 1.5 Lakh – Second awardee
INR 1.0 Lakh – Third awardee
The selection & judging committee has full authority to accept or reject any application. The decision of the Committee will be final, and the gallery or jurors will entertain no communication on this issue. Only selected artists will be intimated about the awards, exhibition and residency.

HOW TO APPLY
ONE consolidated PDF of a maximum of 10 MB in size should contain the documents mentioned below in proper order.
- Short CV with Passport size photograph
- Present Residential and Studio Addresses with proof
- Email address and WhatsApp number
- Facebook & Instagram Handles.
- Website details (if any).
- Cover Letter of 500 words describing why we should consider you a deserving candidate for the awards.
- Artist's Statement (Maximum 500 words)
- A maximum of 10 images with particulars (title/size/medium/year of execution/ and a few lines about each work). You can give up to two details of the same image.
- For video works, please share links (for up to 10 videos, title/duration of video /year of execution/ and a few lines about each image). In addition, you can give up to two still images of each video.
- In the case of performance art, please share stills and video links only (for up to 10 works, title/duration/ year of execution/ and a few lines about each piece). In addition, you can give up to two still images of each performance.
- Please mention special or particular display instructions with diagrams in the PDF.
- One-minute self-introductory video by the artist in vertical format for social media.
- The application PDF must mention the gallery's name if any gallery represents the artist.

IMPORTANT
FOR AWARDS & EXHIBITION
- All works submitted for jury selection must be available for exhibition. Works for the exhibition will be selected from the ten images shared in the portfolio. If the artist does not have the works for the show, they may be disqualified.
- Works submitted should not be older than two years.
- Works should not have been displayed previously in any exhibition (online & offline) or social media platforms.
- Sculptural and installation works of very large sizes may not be considered.
- The gallery does not offer any production budgets.
- The selected applicant will be responsible for sending the artwork to the gallery
- The gallery will not offer travel grants to artists wishing to attend the exhibition opening in Kolkata.
Incomplete and late submissions will be disqualified. It is also strongly suggested that the applications and artist's statements are up to date and made specifically for IMAGINARIUM 3.0. Rehashed applications from previous years or other awards will not be considered. All PDFs must be made properly on a computer. Portfolios put together on your phone will be cancelled.
IMPORTANT DATES

- Announcement of award winners & exhibition in September 2023 at Emami Art (specific date to be announced later)
- No personal calls to gallery team members will be entertained.

PART II
Residency (LOCUS in FOCUS/ Eastern and North Eastern India)
- All applications from artists living and working in the EASTERN & NORTH EASTERN regions of India will automatically be eligible for the residency.
- The jury will select six artists from India's Eastern and North Eastern regions for a four-week residency program at Emami Art, Kolkata, in January 2024 as part of the LOCUS in FOCUS programme.
- All residency artists will be eligible for mentorships, travel, stay and production budgets which will be communicated after the results are announced.
