Emami Art hosted an illustrated talk ‘Painting: A Lifelong Interest’ by Indrapramit Roy based on his 30 years of practice. Followed by the talk, there was a Q & A session moderated by eminent art critic and curator, Nanak Ganguly.

Emami Art, Kolkata | Fifth floorIndrapramit Roy is an artist, teacher and occasional writer who studied at Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan and the Faculty of Fine Arts of MS University of Baroda, followed by an MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art, London. Indrapramit has shown widely in India and abroad. He has been the subject of 19 solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions. In addition, he has shown his works in critical international venues, such as Berlin, London, New York, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Cairo, Macao, Sydney and Bangkok. In 2014, he executed a large 26 X 12 feet work for the New Terminal-2 of Mumbai International airport.
He receives many awards and fellowships, including the Inlaks Scholarship, Erasmus Exchange Scholarship, Cite des Arts, Paris, Fulbright fellowship and Artist-in-Residence at The Siena Art Institute, Italy.
One of the founding members and a trustee of the Foundation for Indian Art & Education (FIAE), Indrapramit Roy, has taught at MS University for over two decades.
Nanak Ganguly is a noted art critic and curator based in Kolkata. He has written extensively for The Statesman, Asian Age, Deccan Chronicle, and others. He was appointed the Commissioner of the eighth Pan Asia- Pacific Art Biennale by Lalit Kala Akademi in 1997. He has curated several major exhibitions in India and abroad, including Urban Narratives at Espace Louis Vuitton, Tokyo (2013) and Charles D’Oyly’s Calcutta, Early Nineteenth Century at Victoria Memorial Hall, Kolkata. (2014), and Fluid Boundaries at Emami art, among many others.
He authored and edited Somnath Hore published by Lalit Kala Akademi, and contributed to Akbar Padamsee: Work in Language, published by Marg Publications.
