The workshop initiated by the KCC conservation lab is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for photography enthusiasts, printmakers, and visual artists to learn from Manoj, an expert in the domain of alternative photography and the conservation team at KCC. As a part of Lalit Mohan Sen retrospective exhibition - “The Enduring Legacy” at Emami Art, the participants are expected to develop a print from a set of Sen’s photographs. The print developed in the workshop will be granted as take-away stationery, and each will receive a digital certificate from KCC Conservation.
Manoj Kumar Bishwas is a photographer, photo-developer, painter, and a graphic artist based in Santiniketan, India. He has more than 10 years of experience in the field of alternative photography and development and has been showcased in multiple prestigious art shows including The CIMA award. Manoj has received awards such as, Art for Hope Grant (Hyundai Motor India Foundation), My 2020 Hero (Chennai Photo Biennale), Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation Award and Fellowship among many others and has been featured in Shifting Borders, Cycle 23, Piramal Art Residency, Mumbai in 2029.
Manoj studied Mathematics and Painting for Graduation and shifted to Santiniketan for his Post Graduation in Painting. His strong grasp in the discipline and meticulously availed knowledge makes a great mentor.
